Timeline Features

This feature request is fairly straightforward. We’d need to add a field to the timeline paragraph to choose between vertical and horizontal orientations and create CSS (visual styling) for the horizontal orientation. This would also give us the opportunity to adapt the Simple Timeline project’s CSS to use Bootstrap like our base theme.
The PA program site does use a timeline from Knight Lab, but we stopped using the project because updates to it can be sporadic resulting in frequent layout problems that render it unusable for weeks at a time -particularly after updates to the Chrome browser.
For reference, I’ve included an image of another horizonal timeline example just to show how scrolling would work. The exact look-and-feel of a horizontal timeline would be tailored to match our visual language.

From the WAC:
How would you scroll if horizontal—not very functional—maybe try infographic instead?
Note example on Physician Assistant Program website – scrolling arrows to click – we think this was created by Andrea using https://timeline.knightlab.com//
Like idea of image and text popping out
Recommendation: Doesn’t seem like a priority—not a widely used feature; if there’s a plug-in/third party software she could use (e.g., the one linked above), that would be our recommendation.
