I met with DWS and DHTS via Zoom to troubleshoot the problem. We determined that the positions have a one-to-one relationship with profiles so we can delete the old positions for each profile and re-import the profiles to indefinitely fix the problem on a per-profile per-site basis.
DWS will be able to use today's observations for further troubleshooting of the module.

The problem must lie with the Scholars import module. On 10/25, we submitted the problem to DWS to fix

On 10/25, I inspected several affected records. The current title displays in the Preferred Title field, however, the old title still shows in the Positions field.
The problem likely lies with the feed data from Scholars@Duke or the import system.
